The #1 Communication Hack for Moms in Labor

At the end of last year some of our great friends had their first baby. When they sent us the text they were headed to the hospital there was a fun little surprise that soon became the greatest hack I had ever seen... a shared note and invitation to join a shared photo album. Every time there was a labor update or any progression they added their updates to the notes app. I would get push notifications (no pun intended) and was able to track progress. I thought this was a genius way to eliminate lots of texts and calls asking for progress as a mom in labor. They could update the app and then give whoever they wanted access to the updates. Friends, family, and co-workers could all get the details in one place. No more having to copy and paste the same message and send to 10 people, or having to create a pesky group thread.

Their little one also needed some unexpected NICU time so this notes app was a great way to update family and friends on her progress as the days went by. The photo album shared all of the first photos, and was updated super often while they were in the hospital. I'm sure the grandparents were LOVING all of the photos- especially since they weren't allowed visitors while she was in the NICU. Another reason this notes idea was so great is that she will have her full birth story documented through notes and updates in real time. I really thought this was a genius idea and was so well thought out. You can even include notes about visiting preferences, links to a meal train, and so much more! I'm all about finding stress-free hacks and this was by far the best labor communication hack I've ever seen!
