It has been a full year since I shot my last wedding as a full-time wedding photographer. I knew I wouldn't hold tight to the idea that I would never photograph weddings again, I just knew that there would be a time and a season that I could pick it back up if the Lord allowed things to line up that way. Fast-forward to this spring when some of our dear friends got engaged. When Bailey reached out to me to ask to photograph their wedding it was a no doubt to me. We first met them a few years back when Nate started working at AYC- and from that very first summer they felt like family. Paul's family has been our GA family for several years now. They are the ones we called when we had an emergency, needed someone to take our kids at the last minute when we had to rush to the hospital to have babies, and could count on to be there for us in any circumstance. It was a joy and an honor to capture the beginning of their lives together. Their wedding took place at Meadows at Mossy creek which is an incredible modern venue in Cleveland, GA with a phenomenal mountain view. The week leading up to the wedding the forecast was looking pretty gloomy. Arriving at the venue I had my rain-gear in hand and was prepared for a rainy day. While Bailey and the bridesmaids were getting ready it was touch and go as to whether or not the drizzles would go away enough to allow for them to have an outdoor ceremony. God showed up big time around 3:00 when the final call needed to be made for the ceremony location. The clouds parted and the fog lifted and that beautiful mountain view was in all of its glory. As the chairs were being set outside for the ceremony we were able to go outside for her bridesmaids photos and first look with her dad and brother.
Instead of having a first look, Bailey and Paul decided to share a first touch and read their personal vows to one another. This was by far my favorite part of the day. It was such a treasure to hear the two of them share their hearts and dreams and promises with one another and to pray together for their marriage and the beginning of their lives together. The way that they glorified the Lord with their vows and their wedding day was so evident. These two love the Lord with all of their hearts. With Christ as the center I know that they will do amazing things for the Kingdom together.
Bailey and Paul, thank you for inviting me to capture this next chapter in your love story. I cannot wait to see where the Lord leads you together.
