Hello October- How is that possible? It has been a hot minute since I’ve done a personal blog. Last year when I went on maternity leave I was super diligent with blogging monthly to keep people up to speed on the fun things our family did, as well as the goals I set for myself. I loved the accountability and the challenge to actually capture photos of my kids to share each month, so I’m bringing back the monthly personal blogs! What we did in August and September
We started school! Jude is now in 1st grade, Knox is preschool 5 days a week, and Emma in preschool 4 days a week. The kids being able to go to school this year was a true miracle and answer to our prayers. Emma is loving every minute of it (she is for sure our social butterfly)
We ended our “summer” with some outdoor camping and going on hikes!
Millie turned one (excuse me while I go sob into a pillow)
Jude started his 3rd year of soccer
We went to the fair as a family
We started Financial Peace University
We participated in local missions with our church family
I photographed a wedding for some of our good friends
Jude accepted Jesus into his heart and was baptized by Nate in the river where I was baptized 9 years ago
I started doing school photography for a lot of the local schools in our area and have a few more schools still on the calendar for October
My kids continue to grow and change and challenge me as a mama. Trying to savor every moment before changes inevitable come once again
Goals for October
Start our Christmas shopping list and budget
Have a community service week with the kids during fall break
Make the kids’ halloween costumes
Post a blog every other day
Take more photos of the kids doing what they love on my camera
Knock things off our Fall Bucket List (find yours here) link to the fall bucket list blog
Finish Reading Habits of the Household
Have a garage sale (fingers crossed)
So my goals are to stay healthy, keep trucking along with our household rhythms, make time to move my body, to read, and to plan ahead for the rest of the year.
Plus I'm enjoying the beginning of fall with lots of yummy soups and homemade bread, jump in a pile of leaves with the kids, and do all the fun fall activities that I look forward to every year.
