Joy. It was literally written all over Ben and Nicole's faces throughout their entire wedding day! It was seen in their smiles, the subtle looks they gave one another, through the tears that Ben and Nicole shed as she walked down the aisle toward him. Their relationship is incredibly special- the kind that make you smile every time you think about them. It was also such a joy for me to be able to capture their wedding day through Videography.
Their Story
Ben + Nicole met at Chick-fil-A when Nicole was a senior in high school and Ben was a sophomore in college. He worked in the back of the house & she worked in the front. When they started training Nicole in the back of house on food prep (making salads, fruit cups, etc.). This forced them to have a little communication, but we still hadn’t had a “real conversation”. So one random day, this overly confident guy (Ben) goes up to her and says, “Nicole, if you & I get married one day, you owe me a hundred bucks” with a smirk on his face. Her response? “But then it would be OUR hundred dollars.” A few months later they went on their first date. That was 3 1/2 years ago. Oh, and yes, she gave him a crisp hundred dollar bill on their wedding night. He won.
Q&A and Advice from Ben and Nicole
-HOW DID YOU KNOW YOU WERE ‘THE ONE’ FOR EACH OTHER?
Ben & I knew we were the ones for each other after we had those “hard conversations” about what we wanted in life & in a partner. Being on the same page about our religious views was of upmost importance. We wanted to make sure we were in love with each other for the right reasons... not just because he’s super handsome.
-WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OUT TO A COUPLE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? My advice to other couples planning their wedding would be to have a SHORT engagement!! Staying pure in a long engagement is sooo extremely difficult. A 5-7 month engagement is perfect in my opinion. We did it in 5 1/2.
-WHY THIS VENUE?
I chose Copey Creek (www.copeycreek.com) for many reasons. First because it’s stunning. I absolutely fell in love with the white wash inside the barn. Practically speaking, the best part about the venue (other than the fact that the owner, Kimberly, is the bomb) is that they don’t make you use any specific vendors. Everything is completely up to you which is so nice and saves you a ton of money.
-MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF YOUR WEDDING DAY?
The most memorable part of my wedding day was just seeing Ben lose it as I walked down the aisle. Alllllllll the heart eyes!
